This website is operated by Maple Lineage Research Inc. ("Maple Lineage", "we", "us"). By using it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What this site is
The site describes our research services and publishes general information about Canadian citizenship by descent. It is not a government website, and we are not affiliated with the Government of Canada or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
Information, not advice
Everything here is general information. It is not legal advice and it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed representative about your own circumstances. Citizenship law changes, and its application depends on the facts of each family line. We keep the content up to date, but we don't warrant that it is complete or current. The Government of Canada's own pages are the authority.
The eligibility check
The eligibility check gives a preliminary indication based on your answers and on general rules. It is not a determination of citizenship, an assessment by a licensed representative, or a promise of any outcome. Only Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada decides whether to issue a citizenship certificate.
No client relationship until you sign
Using this site, completing the eligibility check or sending us a message does not make you a client. Paid work begins only after you accept a written agreement. Advice and representation on a citizenship application are provided by a licensed representative under their own agreement with you. Our Service Terms describe how engagements work.
What we ask of you
- Give us accurate information, and only information you are entitled to share.
- Don't use the site to break the law, to submit false information, or to interfere with its operation.
- Don't copy, scrape or republish the site's content without our written permission.
Intellectual property
The text, design, graphics and code of this site belong to Maple Lineage Research Inc. or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own personal use. Passport graphics and photographs on this site are illustrations, not reproductions of a real document.
Links to other sites
We link to government and other third-party sites for your convenience. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content.
Limits on our liability
The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site or from reliance on the general information published here. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario, unless consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version posted here, with the date at the top, is the one in force.
